David Dart - Managing Partner

David is the founding partner of Dart Advisory LLC and has 10+ years of business experience in family office services. Prior to founding Dart Advisory, David served several families over the last decade in a variety of capacities ranging from in-house single-family office services to tax and alternative asset-only administration. In addition to Dart Advisory, David currently serves as managing director for Mighty Equities, a Texas-based SFO.

During this time he also held positions as controller, director of accounting, and director of finance at two separate alternatives focused investment groups. The most recent group, Wild Basin Investments LLC, is a closely held investment firm located in Austin, Texas with a long-standing portfolio emphasis on private, early-stage, and growth investments.

Prior to Wild Basin, David worked for MidCap (formerly known as Cantaro Capital) a boutique debt focused private equity group. The firm had an acquisition strategy and David lead the accounting and back office as the company grew to $100M+ in business assets across 10+ operating companies.

David’s public accounting career began at Gainer, Donnelly, and Desroches, a top 10 regional accounting firm based in Houston. At GDD David worked in tax, focusing on high net worth and closely held investments groups.

Originally from Virginia, David moved to Austin in 2007 where he received his Texas CPA license. David has a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Franciscan University of Steubenville and a Masters in Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Graduate School of Management.

He lives in the Lake Travis area with his amazing wife and four children. A constant learner, David actively enjoys reading, research, education, and application of new technology. The outdoor lifestyle, amazing food scene, and friendly folk have made David never regret his move to Austin.
